The Indian job seeker
has not yet grasped the complexities of job hunting as it exists today.
What used to be a
simple exercise on a beaten track is now a marathon of Olympian standards.
The Indian job seeker status has graduated from being a job-seeking professional to being a professional job seeker!

The information
relating to the job market has become massive. What is needed is the
development of skills to translate it into jobs. Taking into account the
diversity of the job market, there is no simple method. but, I don’t see why we
need to go around in circles in the desert, just because we happen to be there.
Job hunting is
gigantic. There is an urgent need to recognize it as such. A tendency to look
for short cuts is dangerous. In this ocean of information through placement
firms, websites, companies, print media, et al, wading is essential — even if
the waters are beyond our depth.
Why do we continue to
search for the magic pill for all ills? Or use blaster and zapper services? Or
pour over microscopic classifieds? Or shortlist just the first few placement
agencies that come our way?
We miss more than we
get.
Is job hunting
distasteful just because we don’t like to do unpaid hard work during our
leisure time?
But tell me of what use is the a racehorse in a stable?
